I’d like to compose a post to answer the question on how many calories you must feed on daily to lose weight?
This question is a very common one, as most health specialists have said that people should restrict their calorie consumption as they eat a lot of food with high calorie count.
I have a difficult time doing this, as, in my opinion, calorie counting is not that vital. This is as the number of people struggling with weight problems are still rising no matter how much they know about their calorie intake.
It is true that calories matter, but in my opinion this is something regular people should not worry about.
For now, let’s think that the “calories in, calories out” theory works and that you might simply shed weight by just giving up eating your favorite foods (fast foods, for instance).
What this theory states is that individuals are fat as on an average day, they eat more than they burn. The calorie content of these extra food are then transformed by the body into fat, giving our body additional weight and will later lead to weight problems.
If you were to drop 30 pounds with this method and aiming for a 500 calorie deficit each day, then you would need to weigh every single piece of food you eat and calculate the calories in it, daily for 7 months.
Furthermore, let’s pretend that you can do all of these (due to strong willpower), leaving yourself hungry and depraved of energy. Do you think it will have positive effects after that?
Because if you want to shed weight, you’ve no choice but to do this or else, you’ll gain all of the weight that you have lost.
Additionally, other problems are present in calorie counting:
The body’s metabolism depends upon many factors: weight, genetics, age, sex, height as well as other factors.
Restricting your calorie intake will affect your metabolic process, with its rate changing high and low.
The more you try to control your calorie intake, the more your brain will try to raise your hunger and your wanting ness of food to satisfy your hunger.
Having to weigh every food you eat will be a huge obligation in your life. You won’t desire to do these in front of others, because this is just plain embarrassing, and rude also.
This theory is simply hard. People wouldn’t want to weigh in and count the number of calories they’ll intake on each and every food they consume, which is necessary if they wish to lose their weight this way.
I also happen to believe that the human race is something more than just a large group of gluttons who are unable to control themselves.
I’m going to discuss a particular hormone in your body that you have most likely heard of before.
Insulin is mostly known for controlling blood sugar levels, and a lack of it makes people become diabetes sufferers.
Not only does it prevent diabetes, but additionally, it works as a guard to your fat cells.
Once insulin levels are increased, the body’s fat cells are now “ordered” to store fat, and ensure that the amount of fat inside it does not get out.
With high levels of insulin, even if you are taking significantly low calorie content, you will still have a hard time removing the content from your fat cells.
This will make your body feel energy deprived and your brain will respond. Which then results to the inevitable “hunger”.
What I recommend, is choosing foods that do not cause a large amount of insulin release.
One such example of that content is the macronutrient “carbohydrate”. A single drop of carbs significantly decreases insulin levels.
In this way, some of the fat stored inside the body are burned and the feeling of hunger goes away. The science proves it.
The appetite for food will then disappear, and the body will instead use the extra fat as energy for the entire body.
Weight-loss is not about calories, it’s about eating the kinds of foods that encourage fat loss.
Thus in order to slim down, it isn’t how many calories should I eat, except this is a method that has given you results before.
The correct question would be: how many carbs daily to slim down naturally?
